"There is one scene in the book where Gus goes to a gas station, and he tries to buy a pack of cigarettes because it’s the only way he can assert his own independence after becoming very sick. He [Ansel] did that scene so much justice, and he brought his all. It was midnight when we filmed it, and he just sat there and lost it for hours. I was just sort of in awe." - Shailene Woodley
Ruined Artist: Kevin Chin Source: http://bit.ly/X4jnLz “What do you do with a broken crochet needle and a manic mother? [Artist] Kevin Chin has enlisted his mum to crochet a giant structure to Gallery 2 at Kings ARI. As viewers navigate through the colourful wool installation, they find themselves blanketed within the warmth of the work. The exhibition explores themes of cultural belonging and security, and indeed 400 loving hours of crochet later, what a mother will do for her children.” Source: http://bit.ly/X4jnLz

While I understand that the initial concept behind Ruined likely came from Kevin Chin, I have a hard time reblogging this without mentioning that his mother did 400 hours of crochet for this project, only to have it listed as a solo artistic venture for her son:
